
Tamar O&G offers our North and North West patients access to GPs with a specific interest in Women's health. Their role is to facilitate access to patient centred consultations about any aspect from adolescent menstruation to menopause and pelvic floor concerns in later life.
Dr Anna Carswell is a Specialist General Practitioner with a specific interest in women's and children's health. She graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). Anna progressed to a career in rural General Practice in SE Queensland obtaining fellowships with RACGP and ACRRM. She included 18 months of obstetrics and gynaecology at Cairns Hospital in her training time allowing her to provide maternity care in Goondiwindi. Whilst working in rural GP she also extended her skills completing a DIploma in Child Health and qualifying as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Anna finds her work in women's health very rewarding. At Tamar Obstetrics and Gynaecology she is seeing women with a range of issues including pelvic pain, menopause, pelvic organ prolapse and abnormal vaginal bleeding. Anna enjoys antenatal and postnatal care and is happy to provide this care for women alongside their maternity provider, she welcomes early pregnancy consultation to ensure optimal health during the pregnancy and beyond.
When Anna is not at work she is busy chasing three boys, coordinating home haircuts, running, yoga and show baking.
