Dr Joanne Samuel

Business Manager

Joanne is co-director at Ashton Gate House and chief financial officer overseeing the business side of things. Joanne is married to Ben and together, they envisaged a clinical practice that provides a warm, friendly and inviting place for both patients and the staff that work on site. Joanne is a proud resident of Launceston and Tasmania and also enjoys her work as a full-time anaesthetist at the Launceston General Hospital. Joanne is a busy mum of 2 boys. In her spare time, she loves spending time at home and with her 2 cavoodles.

Susan Grant

Practice Manager & Nurse

Suzie is our Practice Manager and Nurse. Suzie has an extensive background working in theatre and surgical nursing. Suzie completed her Nursing Degree at UTAS in 2005 and subsequently completed a Postgraduate in Perioperative Nursing. Suzie continued her nursing career in Northern Ireland for 7 years before returning to Tasmania.

Suzie has worked in many specialty areas in nursing and in management, including as a Clinical Nurse Manager in a postnatal unit. She has a passion for women’s health and looking after families during pregnancy.
Suzie has many extracurricular interests including walking, foraging and cooking.

Ross is the interim Practice Manager. He has over 45 years of experience

Sharon Woolley

Assistant Practice Manager & Nurse

Sharon is our Assistant Practice Manager and Nurse. She has worked in specialty areas of nursing, including Paediatrics, IVF and theatres. She has a passion for women's health and education, health promotion and natural and medically supported fertility.

Jodie Hannay

Midwife

Jodie has been a Registered Midwife since 2013. She is passionate about women-centred care and providing support to women across all aspects of their health experience. Her aim is to put the needs of the women first and to individualise their care. Jodie considers it an honour to be in the same space where women can share their stories and be heard.

Karina Risson

Midwife & Nurse

Karina has been a Nurse/Midwife for over 20 years, with the majority of her experience being in Alice Springs and West Africa. She enjoys guiding women and their families through their antenatal journey and chatting about all things baby and birthing. 

Outside of work, Karina loves exploring Tassie with her husband and 2 kids.

Clare Tronerud

Allied Team Lead

We welcome Clare to our team, who not only brings with her a friendly smile and kind personality, but also 20 years of experience in medical reception and administration. 

As a mum of two very busy kids, when she manages some 'me time', she spends it close to the coast with her two fur babies.

Serenity is most often the first freindly face you'll meet when you visit our Rooms. She's joined our team after 18 years of managing the most important team - her family!

With a background in retail, she is ready and waiting to welcome you with her happy and welcoming smile.

Rikki Helm

Medical Receptionist / Admin

Rikki joined Tamar OBGYN with an extensive background in administration, as well as many years in the hospitality industry - giving her great all round experience in all things admin, while being personable and relatable. Joining us from a very unrelated industry, Rikki is ready to learn and grow within our team.

When she isn't greeting you when you walk through our doors, she is spending time with her husband and child(ren) exploring what our beautiful State has to offer.

Cara Landers

Tamar Womens Ultrasound Sonographer

Cara has been a qualified Sonographer since 2010. She discovered a passion for women's health and obstetric ultrasound and has undertaken further studies to provide quality patient care and sophisticated imaging. Her aim is to make patients feel comfirtable and cared for. When she is not at work, Cara enjoys time with her family and getting into nature with her camera.
